SciFi and Fantasy Art: Witch and Familiar - colour version

My gallery could certainly do with a bit of colour, so here goes ..! For further description, see the uncoloured pencil version of this drawing.

Yeah, the colored one 2
It seems nice. I only suggest more contrast next time(I think that was the pencils problem here - they're not so bright).

:-) Helle Jorgensen replies: "Well, I confess, colouring is not my strongest point, for mere lack of practice. If I had the time, I'd definetely practice using all of the opportunities that computer paint programmes have. Coloured pencils will however have to suffice so far, since I'm a bit short of time for such learning projects. The lack of colour contrast in the picture as it is here does however have its reason, as I had a late evening or early morning scene in mind, ie, a light approaching twilight, which inevitably means somewhat dull colours. Whether that makes for maximal interest in the colouring scheme is perhaps debatable, but at least that's how I always imagined the motive. (In fact it's one of the rare drawings where I've had an idea of the colour scheme as I drew the b/w pencil version). But I'll keep your comment in mind for future works."

^^ I like the coloured version better too. Simply because I like colours.
I like the idea and ... well, I just like it very much!!
You're a good artist, keep it up!

:-) Helle Jorgensen replies: "I love to see coloured works in other people's galleries, too, and I would dearly love to make more such works myself. So thanks for the compliment! But alas, I rarely have good ideas for the colour scheme for my works. If I'd to work more with it I'd also like to go beyond coloured pencils. Once, at some hypothetical point where I get all of the time one never seems to have in the present, I might take up the practice of working with colouring in a computer programme. In my dreams, but likely not in the near future. "

i like the theme and the background but i think that the anatomy of the person is slightly off. THey seem slighty elongted.

:-) Helle Jorgensen replies: "Thanks, I know what you mean. Some of my friends who have seen this drawing have also commented that the character appears very lean and tall, even a bit masculine for a woman. That detail didn't strike me before anyone mentioned it. Even so, I like the picture as it is, but certainly it is always good to have a fresh pair of eyes to bring attention to such details."
